Do I need to re-tune my TV?
Most TVs will automatically update their channel list. If your channels aren’t updated, you should perform a re-scan. You can usually find this option in your TV’s menu. After completing the re-scan, the new channels should appear. If you’re unsure how to do this, check your TV manual or reach out to the manufacturer for guidance.
About MPEG4 (Version 10)
Televisions, set-top boxes, and Personal Video Recorders (PVRs) from major brands purchased since 2009—especially those with the Freeview logo—are typically equipped to handle MPEG4 (Version 10). However, devices bought before 2009 may not support this format. If you do not wish to purchase a new TV, you can buy a set-top box from your local electrical appliance store for $50-$100. To determine whether your TV supports MPEG4 (Version 10), consult your TV manual or contact the manufacturer.
How can I tell if my TV does not support MPEG4 (Version 10)?
If your TV doesn’t support MPEG4 (Version 10), you may notice that channels appear in the list, but the screen remains black, and the audio may or may not work.
